  I was in Fred's here in Paris TN on Volunteer Dr. on Saturday, 1/5/2013. I am disabled as well as my two housemates. On top of this one of my housemates is mobilized with a broken leg. We were there to do our monthly shopping. When we first entered, the Manager was there to assist my friend with the wheelchair cart. Trust me, this is the only good experience we had. We started back to get her list covered and she spotted an item that had no listing or tagged with the price. We put it in the cart to find out the price when we went to check out. We then went down an aisle to get her dog some treats. One of the employees was stocking the shelves. We wanted a price check on one of the treats and asked the employee who said she would need to go and get a price gun as if this was too much to ask. So I put them in the cart for a price check at the register. We headed down the OTC and beauty aids aisles so my friend could get what she needed. Many of the items were unavailable. I think she found 2. I needed some OTC cold medicine and this area was under stocked also. We decided to get our items at a competitors store. As we.were heading up to the check out we found disposable gloves with the price tag under them for $1.50. I also needed peroxide which was on the same end-cap for $.60, When we got up to the check out another register opened. I put the items we needed a price check on first and asked the cashier to check the price. Instead of carrying them over to the other register to check the price, she said she could not check the price and we would have to go to the other register where a line had already formed. I said we would check the price another time. Then I proceeded to have my $1.50 gloves and $.60 peroxide rang up. It was a shock to say the least when I was told the amount due was over $8.00!!! I explained the price tag under the gloves said $1.50. She called the assistant manager up when the Store manager that had originally helped my friend asked what was the problem. When they explained, all he said was that the gloves were expensive. Yes, I did not wait for any further issues and walked out of the store. Our ride had come in and assisted my housemate with the check out. It just doesn't stop there!! today I tried to send some feedback to Fred's and it would not let me submit this information as it would not allow me past my email address. This is the first time I was lodging a complaint as I usually like to lodge compliments as I have done on several occasions to Krogers.
